Nigerians to Enjoy Free Coverage of 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) has secured a partnership deal to provide free-to-air coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, allowing Nigerians to enjoy comprehensive broadcasts of the event. The initiative aims to connect the nation with Team Nigeria's campaign, ensuring millions can follow the games live across the country.

The coverage will be available through the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), TV Continental (TVC), and various terrestrial TV stations, as well as online streaming platforms. NSC Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade described the partnership as a significant step in bringing the games to every Nigerian home.

The coverage will commence with the opening ceremony on July 23, 2026, and will continue throughout the event, featuring daily two-hour highlight programs showcasing medal-winning performances, athlete interviews, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. This initiative underscores the NSC's commitment to making major international sporting events accessible to Nigerians and strengthening support for the nation's athletes.
