NLNG and NCDMB Launch Research Centre in Rivers State
On Thursday, NLNG and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) initiated the NLNG Research and Innovation Centre for Computer and Electrical Engineering (RICCEE) at Rivers State University. This project represents NLNG's largest Human Capital Development Institutional Strengthening initiative to date, focusing on enhancing the university's capacity for advanced, industry-relevant research, specialized training, and technological solutions in computer and electrical engineering for Nigeria's energy and industrial sectors.
A professorial chair will also be established at the centre to promote industry-focused research and address critical operational challenges, particularly for NLNG. Adeleye Falade, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, represented by Sophia Horsfall, NLNG’s General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development, described the project as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future.
Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, represented by Engr.
Abayomi Bamidele, highlighted the ceremony as a significant milestone in achieving the Board’s Human Capital Development objectives.
