Kebbi United has been sanctioned by the Nigeria Nation League (NNL) with a three-point deduction and a fine of N1 million due to the breach of league rules involving the fielding of an ineligible player, David Ibrahim, during a match against Yobe Desert Stars. The NNL's disciplinary committee, led by match commissioner Buhari Yahaya, found that the club failed to report the incident, which involved an unlicensed player, violating eligibility clauses.

Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana stated that the verdict was right, and Kebbi United has the option to accept the sanctions or appeal the decision. The situation has raised concerns about professionalism within the club and the match officiating process, as it reflects poorly on the adherence to league regulations.
