NDC Offers Discounts on Nomination Forms for Elections

The Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC) has introduced a discount scheme for nomination forms aimed at increasing the participation of women, youths, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the electoral process for the 2027 general elections. According to a statement from the party's national secretariat, signed by Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the initiative is part of the NDC's commitment to ensuring full integration of these groups in the electoral process.

Women will receive a 50% discount on the advertising cost for nomination forms, while youths aged 18 to 35 will also benefit from a 50% discount. Additionally, persons with disabilities will receive a 25% discount.

The NDC emphasizes the need for affirmative action to address the cultural barriers that inhibit women's participation in democracy, noting that Nigeria is missing out on the contributions of 50% of its population by not adequately representing women in the democratic process.
