North Cyprus Introduces E-Visa for Nigerian Visitors

The Turkish Cypriot administration in northern Cyprus has announced the introduction of an e-visa system for citizens of Nigeria, Armenia, and Syria. This new system will replace the existing requirement for these nationals to obtain a full visa through a Turkish Cypriot representative office abroad.
Applicants can submit their e-visa requests online, with a decision generally issued within 30 days, extendable to a maximum of 60 days if necessary. The application fee is set at $40 (approximately €34.30).
The migration department will conduct an initial review of applications, with security screenings occurring before travelers reach the border. In case of technical difficulties with the e-visa platform, officials at crossing points and Ercan (Tymbou) airport may issue visas in person, contingent on a circular from the interior minister.
Currently, only citizens of Nigeria, Armenia, and Syria require a full visa to enter northern Cyprus, while nationals from other countries can enter as tourists without prior visa requirements.
