NAHCON Reduces 2026 Hajj Fare for Nigerian Pilgrims, Northerners to Pay N7.5m

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a significant reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare for Nigerian pilgrims, with Northerners set to pay N7.5 million and Southerners N7.9 million. The move follows a recommendation to ease the financial burden on Nigerian Muslims preparing for the pilgrimage.

The new fares reflect a decrease from the previous rates, with specific rates for different departure zones. NAHCON also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj to ensure Nigerian pilgrims are allocated slots and confirmed flights for the 2026 Hajj season.

The reduction in fares is part of ongoing reforms to enhance transparency and service standards in the Hajj process.
