Keyamo Critiques NDC's Zoning of 2027 Presidential Ticket

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its decision to zone the 2027 presidential ticket to the South. In an interview on Sunday, Keyamo described this move as a political strategy aimed at misleading Nigerians in the lead-up to the next elections.

He expressed a lack of trust in the NDC's commitment to its agreements, raising concerns about whether the party would uphold its promises. Keyamo argued that the party's position could easily change with the approval of its leadership, indicating that nothing would prevent the NDC from altering its direction in the future.

He referenced the potential influence of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and the possibility of a coalition that could reverse the zoning arrangement, suggesting that power dynamics within political groups could shift. Keyamo emphasized that party agreements are not permanent and can be changed whenever political leaders decide.
