NSCDC Arrests Child Trafficking Suspect, Seizes 1,860 Liters of Fuel in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State apprehended a child trafficking suspect, Jerri Peter, who was caught attempting to traffic five underage children. The suspect was intercepted by NSCDC operatives in Zamfara State while traveling with the minors late at night.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect intended to transport the children to Edo State. The NSCDC successfully rescued the children unharmed and the suspect confessed during interrogation.

In a separate operation, the NSCDC arrested sixteen suspects involved in the illegal acquisition and transportation of petroleum products across several local government areas in Zamfara State. A total of 1,860 liters of petroleum products, including petrol and automotive gas oil, were seized.

The NSCDC emphasized the serious security and safety risks posed by such illegal activities and assured residents of thorough investigations and prosecution in line with the law.
