NSCDC Arrests 10 in Abuja for Kidnapping and Vandalism

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) paraded ten suspects linked to cross-border kidnapping and vandalism during a press conference at their national headquarters in Abuja. Among the arrested were Umar Abdullahi, 30, and Murtala Ibrahim, 22, who confessed to their involvement in kidnapping-related activities.

Afolabi Babawal, the NSCDC's public relations officer, stated that the suspects would face charges in court to deter similar crimes. Additionally, six suspects were apprehended for vandalizing electrical power infrastructure, including Suleiman Ibrahim, 31, and Libra Umar, 25.

The operation, conducted by the NSCDC's crack squad, resulted in the recovery of stolen items and weapons. Babawal emphasized the agency's zero-tolerance stance against vandalism and sabotage, highlighting the importance of public cooperation in safeguarding national assets.
