OGLABOT Advocates for Ogun Border Community Development

The Ogun -Lagos Border Towns Development Group (OGLABOT) is intensifying efforts to prioritize the development of communities along Ogun State’s borders with Lagos. The group is advocating for targeted investments to address significant infrastructure gaps that hinder economic growth.

During an engagement with Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, OGLABOT presented a development document based on consultations with local residents, community leaders, and business owners. Key areas identified for urgent intervention include Tongeji Island, transportation links, and infrastructure in densely populated communities.

OGLABOT Coordinator Simeon Olu Okeowo emphasized that the organization has been advocating for the development of these border communities for over a decade, initiated by Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. The consultations revealed that while these communities have substantial economic potential, they lack the necessary infrastructure for sustainable development.

The group plans to continue engaging stakeholders to find practical solutions to these challenges.
