Ogogo's Family Announces Burial Rites Schedule

The family of the late actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced the schedule for the remaining burial ceremonies following his death from stage 4 cancer. He was buried on August 24, 2026, in his hometown of Ilaro.

A statement from veteran actor Jide Kosoko, shared on Instagram on August 26, 2026, expressed gratitude to attendees of the burial. The first event, an 8th-day Fidau Prayer, is set for August 31, 2026, in Ilaro, with the family inviting friends, colleagues, and fans to join in prayers for Ogogo's peaceful repose.

The second event, a 40-day Artists' Day, will occur at the Pavilion Hall in Ilaro, featuring performances from various entertainers to celebrate Ogogo's life and contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry. This event is being coordinated by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), which aims to honor its icons through such traditions.
