Ogun Community Demands Probe into Death of Demola Agboola

The Ikenne community in Ogun State has called for an independent investigation into the death of Demola Agboola, who allegedly died after being taken into police custody following a dispute between two young men. The community, represented by the Ikenne Development Association UK Chapter and the Truth, Peace and Reconciliation Committee Stakeholders, stated that Agboola was not involved in the original dispute but intervened to mediate.

The incident began on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Glory Time Pharmacy, where a confrontation occurred between two men, Anu and Daniel. Agboola, known for resolving disputes, agreed to mediate a meeting between them.

The police were informed about the meeting and positioned themselves nearby. When the meeting occurred, a physical altercation ensued, and police began apprehending individuals present.

Agboola reportedly fled but was pursued by an officer. The community's president, Distinct Oreselu, raised concerns about Agboola's treatment by the police and the circumstances leading to his death.
