Security Commander Killed, Residents Abducted in Kwara

Agbeniga Taye, a community security commander, was killed while trying to protect residents during an attack on the Idofin-Odo Ashe axis of Idofin-Ayekale in Oke-Ero Local Government Area, Kwara State. The attack also resulted in the abduction of two residents, raising security concerns in Kwara South.

Hon. Saheed Popoola, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kwara South Senatorial District, condemned the killing and abduction, urging for urgent security intervention in vulnerable communities. He expressed condolences to Taye's family and the affected community, calling on the Kwara State Government and security agencies to enhance security presence and intelligence operations in Oke-Ero and surrounding areas.

Popoola emphasized that community protectors should not become victims and that residents should be able to live and conduct their businesses without fear. The identities of the attackers and the whereabouts of the abducted residents were not confirmed at the time of the report.
