Lagos PDP Backs Makinde's Call for Abduction Inquiry

The Lagos State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's demand for an independent investigation into the abduction of schoolchildren and a teacher in the Oriire local government area. Princ Christoph Odianarewo, the party's public secretary, described the governor's call as a necessary response to the circumstances surrounding the abduction and the prolonged captivity of the victims.

He argued that an independent inquiry is essential to restore public confidence in Nigeria's security institutions. Odianarewo emphasized that the demand for transparency should not be politicized, stating that the Nigerian public deserves a full account of the incident.

He urged relevant international organizations, including United Nations agencies and global human rights bodies, to support efforts aimed at uncovering the full circumstances of the incident and enhancing Nigeria's capacity to respond to security threats involving children. The Lagos PDP reaffirmed its commitment to justice and transparency for every Nigerian child.
