Adeleke Restructures Campaign Council for APC Defectors

On a recent weekend, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State approved the reconstitution of the Imole Campaign Council to incorporate prominent leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) who recently defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). This strategic move is intended to ensure that these new members play significant roles in the election campaign leading up to the governorship poll on August 15th.

The council's new members include various individuals such as Bamidel Salam, Folorunsho Bamisayemi, and Dr. Tund Alarap, among others, who will serve in different capacities within the campaign structure.

Additionally, the council announced the creation of a new committee focused on electoral surveillance and voter education, chaired by former youth commissioner Yemi Lawal. Meanwhile, the Imole Campaign Council accused the Osun State Police Commission, led by Ibrahim Gotan, of collaborating with the APC to mislead the public regarding an alleged assassination plot involving Wole Ok.

The council's spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, condemned these allegations as dangerous and unprofessional, asserting the need for transparency in the investigation.
