Osun Police Investigate Shooting Incident, Enhance Security

The Osun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a shooting incident that took place on Tuesday in Osun State, which resulted in injuries to a passerby. DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the command's spokesperson, expressed deep concern regarding the incident.

Following reports of the shooting, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan directed the command's Violent Crime Response Unit and the Department of Operations Intelligence Unit to launch a thorough investigation aimed at apprehending and prosecuting those responsible. Ojelabi further assured residents that necessary measures are being implemented to restore normalcy in the affected area and to prevent recurrence.

Security reinforcements have been put in place, and intelligence-led operations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and their sponsors, regardless of their societal or political status. Residents are urged to remain calm and vigilant, report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
