AAC Candidate Olajide Esan Vows to Return Stronger

Olajide Esan, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, stated that his political movement will return stronger despite his defeat. In a message on his X handle, he thanked the people of Osun for their support and clarified that the Irapada Osun movement was aimed at awakening the minds of the people rather than merely winning the election.

Esan criticized the influence of money in politics, asserting that it would not silence their movement permanently. He noted that the AAC placed eighth among the 15 candidates in the election, which was won by Accord Party candidate Governor Ademola Adeleke, who received 511,067 votes.

His closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, garnered 444,815 votes. Adeleke won 19 out of 30 local government areas, while Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress came in third with 17,180 votes.
