Otti Criticizes Abure for Selling LP Nomination Forms

Alex Otti, the current governor of Abia State, criticized Julius Abure, the former national chairman of the Labour Party, for selling gubernatorial nomination forms to aspirants despite ongoing legal challenges regarding the party's leadership. Otti's comments were conveyed through his chief press secretary, Ukoha Ukoha, who emphasized that Abure's actions are questionable following a court ruling that recognized the party's leadership structure.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also been mentioned as not legitimizing Abure's authority to conduct electoral processes. Ceekai Igara, the former national vice chairman of the Labour Party, confirmed receiving the nomination forms, indicating preparations for the upcoming judicial determinations affecting the party.

The situation is further complicated by a leadership tussle within the party, with the Supreme Court and Federal High Court involved in the matter. INEC currently recognizes Nenadi Usman as the Labour Party chairman, while efforts to reach Abure for comments were unsuccessful.
