Sunday Igboho Stops Police Arrest of Tani Olohun in Ibadan

On August 25, Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, intervened to stop police officers from arresting Abdulazeez Adegbola, popularly known as Tani Olohun, at his residence in Ibadan. Videos showed a scuffle outside Olohun's home, where officers from the Oyo State Police Command attempted to detain him.

The officers arrived in an unmarked vehicle and faced skepticism from residents regarding their identity. Family members contacted Igboho, who arrived with supporters and communicated with a senior official about the situation.

After intervention, Olohun was freed, appearing disheveled and thanking various officials, including the Oyo Governor and police commissioners. The police's attempt to detain Olohun is related to a criminal case filed by the Ilorin Heritage Preservation Foundation, alleging that he posted a video mocking an Islamic prayer, which they claim could incite religious tension.

The case is currently pending in a court in Ilorin.
