Oluyole LG Distributes Solar Street Lights to Communities

The Oluyole Local Government Council has intensified its rural electrification efforts by distributing solar street-light systems to over 30 communities within the council area. This distribution, which occurred on Monday at the Local Government Council Secretariat in Idi-Ayunre, is part of a broader commitment to rural development and infrastructure provision.

The initiative aims to improve access to street lighting, enhance security, and create a safer environment for residents. Beneficiary communities include Ifelodun Zone 2, Mosadoluwa, Aba Epo Zone 2, Irewole Tella, Araromi Community, Ayedaade Agric General, Sokelu Community, and Ifelodun-Olokuta.

Additionally, local security outfits such as the Vigilante Group, Agbekoya, and the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) received solar lighting tools to support their operations. Engr Akeem Olatunji, the Executive Chairman of the council, stated that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to extend basic infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents, particularly in underserved communities.
