Pedestrian Killed in Ogun Hit-and-Run Incident

On Wednesday, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Magboro, Ogun State. The incident occurred around 11 AM when the victim attempted to cross the highway and was struck by a vehicle traveling at high speed.

Eyewitness Simpli Grace reported that the impact threw the victim into the air, and a commercial bus following the vehicle also hit the victim. The driver of the initial vehicle did not stop and sped away.

Eyewitnesses claimed that a Federal Road Safety Corps vehicle passed the scene without stopping to assist or evacuate the body. The victim's body was left unattended for hours, and attempts to identify the victim were complicated as personal belongings, including a phone and wallet, were taken amid the crowd.

Ogun State Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that action was taken regarding the incident, which is part of a series of hit-and-run accidents reported along the expressway.
