Peter Obi on Visa Denials for Nigerians at Town Hall

Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday. He explained that the primary reason many countries deny Nigerians visas is that "no rich man will open their door for poor people." Obi emphasized that his vision for transforming Nigeria would lead to a situation where Nigerians would not feel the need to travel abroad as frequently and would find it easier to obtain visas when they do apply.

He is running for the presidency alongside Rabi’u Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, after they both left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in May due to internal divisions and ongoing court cases. Obi's remarks reflect his commitment to reforming Nigeria and improving the international perception of Nigerians.
