DSS Releases Kano Governor's Aides After 4-Hour Detention

The Department of State Services (DSS) released aides of the Kano Governor on bail after they were held for four hours in custody. The detention was reportedly due to allegations of cybercrime and defamation against the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Kwankwaso.

The governor's spokesperson indicated that the matter would be presented in court for arraignment scheduled for Tuesday. The incident has intensified the ongoing rift between Governor Yusuf and his former political mentor, Kwankwaso.

The governor's aides, including Salisu Hotoro, were accused of engaging in cyberbullying and defamation against Kwankwaso and other political figures. The allegations included a petition citing various attacks against Kwankwaso and his associates.

The situation has led to a significant political discourse, with the APC praising a singer known as Rarara for his controversial songs that allegedly contain innuendos directed at Kwankwaso.
