Phone Snatchers Kill Man in Kaduna's Kawo Bridge Attack

On Saturday evening around 8 PM, a tragic incident occurred in Kaduna when a middle-aged man was killed by phone snatchers at Kawo Bridge in the Kaduna North Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was accosted by a group of youths while attempting to board a commercial tricycle, commonly known as "keke napep." The assailants demanded the victim's mobile phone, and during the confrontation, they allegedly stabbed him in the chest.

After the attack, the suspects fled the scene, leaving the victim lying in a pool of blood. Passersby rushed to assist him, but he was not apprehended.

Bashir Umar, a resident of the area, described Kawo Bridge as a hotspot for criminal activity and urged security agencies to intensify surveillance and patrols in the area. This incident is not the first of its kind, as there was a previous killing in the same area last year over a similar phone theft.

Local traders expressed concern over the rising insecurity and called for urgent intervention from authorities, including increased police patrols and surveillance cameras.
