Bamanga Tukur Laid to Rest in Yola, Adamawa State

Bamanga Tukur, the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, passed away at the age of 91 in Abuja on Saturday. His burial took place in his hometown of Yola, Adamawa State, on Sunday, conducted according to Islamic rites by Chief Imam Ahmadu Bobboi at 10:50 am.

Tukur was interred at his family house in Fadde-Sanda, Abuja Road, Yola, at 11:30 am. President Bola Tinubu expressed condolences, describing Tukur as a prominent figure in Nigeria's political and economic landscape.

Tukur's career included roles as the governor of the old Gongola State and Minister of Industries. He is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Awwal Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government of Adamawa.

The funeral was attended by dignitaries such as Aliko Dangote, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Senator Iya Abbas, and former Governor Jibrilla Bindow, along with traditional leaders and other notable figures.
