Plateau State Government Urges Peace After Kassa Attack

The Plateau State Government has issued a warning to residents against blocking the Jos-Barkin Ladi highway following a violent attack in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, on September 24, which reportedly resulted in several fatalities. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, condemned the attack and called for peace among the affected community.

In a statement released on September 25, the government urged families and communities impacted by the violence to refrain from obstructing the highway, as such actions could endanger travelers. The government assured that security agencies are actively working to identify those responsible for the attack and to prevent further incidents.

Residents were encouraged to continue their lawful activities while remaining vigilant and cooperating with security forces. Additionally, traditional, religious, and community leaders were called upon to assist in maintaining calm in Kassa and other vulnerable areas.
