Brother Killed Over Mistaken Identity in Plateau State

Hannatu recounted the tragic death of her brother, who was killed over mistaken identity, as he was believed to be a Fulani. On a Sunday, she received a call from a police officer named Bello, informing her that her brother had been found beaten to death.

She described the incident as inhuman and stated that her brother's features may have led to the mistaken identity. Hannatu explained that she received a call about her brother lying on the ground and was taken to the hospital in Dadin Kowa, where she found him unconscious.

The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on a Monday when a vigilant report indicated that he had been beaten by people who mistook him for a Fulani. The police were informed, and an investigation was initiated, with the last person who called her brother being tracked.

Hannatu expressed her desire for justice and confidence in the state government to ensure accountability. The spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfr, did not respond to inquiries regarding the incident.
