Police Arrest 27-Year-Old Drug Trafficker in Katsina

On June 15, 2026, the Katsina State Police Command successfully arrested 27-year-old Jibrin Salisu, a notorious drug trafficker, in Funtua Local Government Area. The arrest was made during an anti-crime patrol by a team of policemen attached to the Central Police Station in Funtua.

The officers intercepted Salisu while he was riding a motorcycle and conducted a thorough search, leading to the discovery of two sachets containing 2,000 tablets of diazepam. During the investigation, Salisu confessed to receiving the illicit substances from an accomplice known as Faith Ez, aged 26.

The police are actively pursuing Ez and have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking in the region. Katsina State Police Command's Commissioner, Ali Umar Fage, emphasized a zero-tolerance stance against drug trafficking and urged the public to assist in reporting drug-related activities.
