Police Arrest Drug Trafficker, Seize 2,000 Diazepam Tablets

On June 15, 2026, the police apprehended 27-year-old Jibrin Salisu during a routine anti-crime patrol conducted by the Central Police Station in Funtua, Katsina. Officers recovered two sachets containing 2,000 diazepam tablets from Salisu's motorcycle.

Following his arrest, Salisu confessed during interrogation that he received the drugs from a 26-year-old woman named Faith Ez, who is currently at large. The police have launched a follow-up operation aimed at apprehending Ez and dismantling the network involved in the illicit drug trade.

Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the command maintains a zero-tolerance stance against drug trafficking and abuse, warning that anyone involved in the sale or distribution of illicit substances will face the full wrath of the law. The Katsina State Command, led by Ali Umar Fage, is committed to ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes.
