Police Arrest Bandit Informant in Katsina Attack Case

The Katsina State Police Command arrested 45-year-old Surajo Isyaku for his alleged involvement in multiple cases of kidnapping and cattle rustling in Matazu Local Government Area. The arrest occurred following credible intelligence that led to his tracking and apprehension on May 15, 2026.

During interrogation, Isyaku confessed to participating in two kidnapping operations in Sayaya Village, where he admitted to collecting a total of N7,000,000 in ransom from victims, of which he received N900,000. He also confessed to collaborating with a notorious bandit kingpin named Bello and participating in cattle rustling, where he received N40,000 from the proceeds of rustling 14 cows.

Additionally, Isyaku was linked to an April 5, 2026, attack that resulted in the burning of houses in Sayaya Village and the death of a policeman. The Katsina State Police Command, led by CP Ali Umar Fage, commended the swift action of the operatives and reiterated their commitment to combating crime, particularly kidnapping and cattle rustling.
