Police Prevent Bomb Attack on Ondo Government Facilities

The Ondo State Police Command successfully foiled an attempt to bomb government facilities in Akure, apprehending six suspects in the process. The operation was disclosed by Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal during a press briefing at the command's headquarters.

Following intelligence reports, police deployed to specific areas identified as potential targets for the attack. The arrested suspects include Adekunle Prosper (56), Ojo Olumid (39), Tope Kolawole (40), Ahm Salihu (40), Bolaji Adebowale (46), and Gbadebo Abidemi (43).

A thorough search of the scene resulted in the recovery of various items, including 217 bottles of a substance, 17 mobile phones, N187,000 in cash, two HP laptops, eight knives, an external hard drive, two national identification cards, and two motorcycles. Preliminary assessments indicated that the materials were intended for constructing explosive devices, suggesting that the group's criminal activities may extend beyond the state capital.
