Police Recover Bodies of Kidnap Victims in Edo State

The Edo State Police Command reported the recovery of two bodies belonging to kidnapping victims, Favour Nosakhar, 66, and Emmanuel Annabel Osaser, 28, in a forest within the Ovia North-East Local Government Area. The victims were abducted on May 9, 2026, by armed kidnappers who invaded their residence in Iyowa Community.

During the abduction, the victims were seen in a video call being tortured and flogged by their captors, who demanded ransom. Following this incident, the police intensified their efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators using intelligence and technology.

On May 19, 2026, a police operation led to a confrontation with the kidnappers, resulting in the arrest of Musa Haruna, 23, who sustained gunshot injuries. He confessed to being involved in the kidnapping syndicate.

The investigation is ongoing, with the police committed to apprehending all members of the criminal group.
