Zamfara Police Rescue Three Abducted Teenage Boys

On May 31, 2026, the Zamfara State Police Command announced the rescue of three teenage boys who had been abducted in February 2026. The victims, Yusuf Ibrahim (15), Basiru Yusuf (17), and Mubarak Ibrahim (18), were found wandering in Bingi Forest, Maru Local Government Area, during a joint security patrol.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts to secure the release of individuals held captive and to discourage ransom payments to bandits. The police spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar, stated that the victims were abducted from Marab Village in the Kwaren Ganuwa District of Tsafe Local Government Area.

Following their rescue, the boys were taken to a government hospital for medical attention and were later discharged. Muhammad Bello Jabaka, the chairman of Maru Local Government Area, facilitated the reunion of the victims with their families.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to restoring peace and security across the state and urged residents to provide credible information to aid in the fight against crime.
