Presidency Critiques Aregbesola's "Renewed Hope" Scam Claim

The presidency of Nigeria, through special adviser Bayo Onanuga, condemned former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his remarks that the "Renewed Hope" agenda is a scam. Aregbesola's comments were made during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) convention, where he criticized the Tinubu administration.

Onanuga accused Aregbesola of hypocrisy, pointing out that during his eight-year tenure as governor, Osun State experienced significant economic hardship, with civil servants often unpaid or receiving only a fraction of their salaries. He noted that Aregbesola's administration was marked by financial mismanagement and a lack of credible plans for the state.

Furthermore, Onanuga highlighted Aregbesola's failures in security, referencing multiple jailbreaks during his time as Minister of Interior under President Muhammadu Buhari. The presidency urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against politicians who seek power without substantive plans, labeling Aregbesola's criticisms as opportunistic.
