Presidency Rebuts Aregbesola's Criticism of Tinubu

The Presidency, represented by Bayo Onanuga, responded sharply to Rauf Aregbesola's criticisms of Bola Tinubu, stating that Aregbesola had failed during his tenure as governor of Osun State and as Minister of Interior. Onanuga dismissed Aregbesola's remarks, which described Tinubu's administration's "Renewed Hope" agenda as a "classic scam." He accused Aregbesola of echoing opposition rhetoric and attempting to distort the government's record.

Aregbesola had previously called for Tinubu to resign, criticizing the administration's handling of security issues and economic challenges. Onanuga countered by highlighting the improvements in Nigeria's economy, including increased GDP, stronger foreign reserves, and investor confidence, attributing these to Tinubu's policies.

He emphasized that Aregbesola's own time in office was marked by hardship for civil servants and significant security failures, particularly during his four years as Minister of Interior, which included multiple jailbreaks.
