Tinubu's Aide Defends Administration Against Aregbesola

Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser on strategic communications to President Bola Tinubu, responded to Rauf Aregbesola's remarks made during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention in Abuja, where Aregbesola labeled the "Renewed Hope" agenda a scam. Onanuga criticized Aregbesola's tenure as governor of Osun State and as Minister of Interior, citing failures such as unpaid civil servant salaries and a high number of jailbreaks during his administration.

He noted that Aregbesola's governance was marked by hardship, with pension payments often delayed and federal allocations significantly reduced. Onanuga also defended Tinubu's administration, pointing to achievements like a minimum wage increase and a decline in inflation.

He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against individuals seeking power without a solid program, emphasizing Aregbesola's lack of moral authority to criticize the current administration.
