Onanuga Critiques Aregbesola's Legacy in Osun State

Bayo Onanuga, a presidential aide, responded sharply to Rauf Aregbesola's recent criticism of the Tinubu administration's "Renewed Hope" agenda during the ADC national convention in Abuja. Onanuga described Aregbesola's remarks as misleading and politically motivated, accusing him of recycling opposition narratives against the current government, particularly regarding the economy and security situation in Nigeria.

He highlighted that Aregbesola's eight-year tenure as governor of Osun State was characterized by significant economic hardship, with civil servants reportedly facing delayed salary payments and pension issues. Onanuga claimed that the situation led to severe difficulties for workers, including cases of death due to financial strain.

He also pointed out that the current administration's agenda has already begun delivering results across various sectors, dismissing Aregbesola's comments as politically driven. The criticism extended to the former administration's handling of security breaches and passport processing inefficiencies during Aregbesola's time in office.
