Radda to Present North-west Peace Framework at UNGA

Dikko Umaru Radda, the Chairman of the North-west Governors’ Forum and Governor of Katsina State, will lead governors from the seven states of the North-west region to New York to present the Peace, Security and Development Framework 2026–2030 at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. This presentation will occur during a high-level side event titled ‘From Fragility to Opportunity: Locally Led Pathways to Peace, Resilience and Investment in Fragile Contexts.’ The framework aims to provide a regional approach to peace, security, resilience, and development, emerging from collaborative efforts among the governors to address shared challenges.
Supported by the United Nations system, particularly the UNDP, the framework seeks to enhance regional cooperation and partnerships to tackle insecurity and promote socio-economic development. The engagement in New York will also focus on attracting international partnerships and investments to implement the framework, emphasizing opportunities in agriculture, infrastructure, energy, technology, mining, and human capital development.
