Ogun Residents Criticize Slow Progress on Road Project

Residents and traders along Imedu-Olori Road in the Mowe area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, have voiced their concerns regarding the slow progress of ongoing road construction, which commenced approximately one month ago, facilitated by Senator Solomon Adeola. Observations made on a Tuesday indicated that motorcyclists struggled to navigate the route, with passengers often disembarking to avoid accidents.

The poor condition of the road has adversely affected local businesses, as potential customers are deterred from using the route. Traders reported that heavy rains render the pathway nearly unrecognizable, complicating movement.

A trader, Mummy Joy, expressed dissatisfaction with the construction pace, predicting it may not be completed until December. Another trader, Mummy Victor, revealed that a recent misunderstanding among workers led to a work stoppage.

Kayode Odunaro, spokesperson for Senator Adeola, clarified that while the senator facilitates projects, he does not directly oversee them, emphasizing that construction timelines and funding are critical factors in project completion.
