Tom Saintfiet Resigns as Mali National Football Coach

Tom Saintfiet has officially resigned from his position as the head coach of the Mali national football team, effective immediately. The Belgian tactician's departure comes at the end of a two-year spell in charge, during which he oversaw 17 competitive matches, achieving a record of two defeats.

His contract was originally scheduled to run until August 31. Saintfiet made the decision to leave earlier than planned to provide the Malian Football Federation with sufficient time to strategize for the next steps in their coaching search.

His tenure is noted for stabilizing the team competitively and guiding them through various challenges. Following his resignation, Mali is now in search of a new head coach ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
