Presidency Urges Intelligence Sharing Amid Terror Threats

The Nigerian Presidency, represented by Bayo Onanuga, responded to Senator Ali Ndume's claims regarding the existence of terrorist intelligence within Nigerian society. Onanuga advised Ndume to share any specific intelligence he possesses with the appropriate security agencies to facilitate effective action.

Ndume had previously stated on television that terrorists were using commercial tricycles, known as "keke napep," to deliver bombs and that they were sharing information among themselves, posing a danger to citizens. Onanuga emphasized the importance of handling intelligence confidentially and noted that President Bola Tinubu had approved additional military equipment to bolster security efforts.

This response comes in the wake of ongoing military operations in Borno State, particularly after a suicide bombing on March 16 that killed 23 people and injured 108 others. Vice President Kashim Shettima also visited victims in Maiduguri, assuring them of enhanced support for security forces.
