Soldiers and NDLEA Arrest Terrorist Drug Suppliers in Katsina

On Tuesday, October 5, 2023, at approximately 5:15 PM, soldiers from the Nigerian Army and personnel from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted a joint operation in Kagara Village, Kafur Local Government Area, Katsina State. This operation aimed to disrupt the supply of narcotics to criminal groups operating in the area.

The operation led to the arrest of three suspects: Mohan Lawan (34), Muhawiya Haruna (40), and Junadata Usman (40). During the operation, various illicit substances were recovered, including cannabis sativa, tramadol capsules, pregabalin, diazepam, and a local intoxicant known as "suck die spirit." Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly involved in supplying hard drugs to terrorist criminal elements operating within the Kafur community.

The NDLEA's area command in Malumfashi is conducting further investigations for possible prosecution, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistical supply chains supporting terrorism and organized crime across Katsina State.
