Nigerian Army Repels Bandit Attack in Kebbi State

On August 14, 2026, troops from the Nigerian Army successfully repelled an attack by suspected bandits on construction workers at Tsatsunbe village in Southern Kebbi State. The operation was initiated following a tip-off regarding the impending attack.

Olaniyi Osoba, the spokesman for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, reported that the troops responded swiftly to the distress call, engaging the attackers with superior firepower, which forced the bandits to withdraw in disarray. During the subsequent exploitation of the area, the troops recovered three motorcycles that had been abandoned by the fleeing attackers.

The construction workers, who had sought refuge in the bushes during the assault, were safely rescued and returned to their camp. This operation was part of Operation Clean Sweep IV, aimed at protecting communities, workers, and critical infrastructure from criminal elements in the region.
