Soldiers Rescue Two Kidnap Victims in Plateau State

Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE successfully rescued two kidnap victims in separate operations conducted in Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State. The Joint Task Force reported these rescues on Wednesday, detailing that the operations were part of ongoing counter-terrorism and internal security efforts.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2025, troops from sector 3 initiated a search and rescue operation based on credible information regarding the kidnapping of Mr. Ndubuisi Onuigbo, leading to his successful rescue. The following day, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, troops from sector 2, during a patrol in Kukawa village, encountered suspected terrorists and rescued another victim, Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, who was abandoned by the fleeing assailants.

Both victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families. Major General Maxwell Dangana, the Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, commended the troops for their professionalism and urged continued support for their operations aimed at restoring peace in the region.
