Female Motorist Dies in Lagos Road Crash After Losing Control

A female motorist tragically lost her life in a lone road crash at Mongoro, inward Ile-Zik, Lagos, after reportedly losing control of her Toyota Sienna with registration number LND 162 HB and crashing into a roadside building. Adebayo Taofiq, spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, noting that the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The impact of the crash was described as catastrophic, resulting in her instantaneous death. LASTMA officers, who were on routine patrol, quickly responded by cordoning off the affected section of the road to prevent further accidents and restore traffic flow.

Olalekan Bakare-Oki, General Manager of LASTMA, called the crash a painful reminder of the dangers of speeding and reckless driving, urging motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles are mechanically fit. The agency extended condolences to the deceased's family.
