Stakeholders Call for Enhanced Emergency Response Collaboration

Stakeholders in accident, disaster, and emergency management convened at the Hospital Emergency Response Foundation (HERF) Summit in Utako, Abuja, themed “Strengthening Multi-Agency Collaboration for Effective Emergency Response and Road Safety in the FCT.” Dr. Abbas Idris Garba, president of the Risk Managers Society of Nigeria, stressed that effective collaboration among emergency response agencies is crucial to reducing fatalities from road crashes and other emergencies. He highlighted the importance of preparedness in accident situations to minimize casualties.

Dr. Ozy Okonokhua, programme manager of the FCT Medical Service and Ambulance System, noted that improved synergies would decrease the time it takes for victims to reach hospitals. Rev. Fr. Sabastine Sani, chairman of the HERF Governing Board, emphasized the organization's goal to enhance emergency response and save lives.

The Summit included representatives from various agencies, including NEMA, FEMA, FRSC, and the Nigeria Police Force.
