PDP Urges Ogun Residents to Safeguard Votes Ahead of Polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State called on residents to remain vigilant and monitor their votes during the upcoming elections. This appeal was made during the official campaign launch for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections on Wednesday.

Ladi Adebutu, the Chairman of the Campaign Committee and PDP governorship candidate, encouraged voters to stay at polling units after casting their votes to ensure proper counting and transmission. He expressed optimism for a better future, stating, “I know the happy days are coming again in January.” Lateefat Sowunmi-Kolapo, his running mate, echoed this sentiment, urging residents to resist intimidation and actively participate in the electoral process.

Iyabo Obasanjo, the party’s senatorial candidate and daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, emphasized her commitment to restoring the pride of her senatorial district after previously serving from 2007 to 2011. Thousands of supporters pledged their commitment to vote for the PDP in January.
