Raheem Sterling Charged with Dangerous Driving, Court Date Set

Raheem Sterling, 31, is scheduled to appear in Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on September 15, 2026, after being charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, and failing to provide a specimen. The charges stem from a single-vehicle collision involving his Lamborghini on the M3 southbound near the Minley Interchange on May 28, 2026.

Sterling was arrested at the scene and later released on bail while investigations were ongoing. The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the charges, noting that no other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

Initially, Sterling was investigated for driving while unfit through drugs, but that allegation was not included in the charges. A source close to Sterling stated there was “no proof” of drugs in his system.

Sterling is currently without a club after leaving Feyenoord at the end of the last season and had previously played for Chelsea and Manchester City.
