Ejiofor Urges Peaceful Biafra Struggle Without Lies

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), addressed the Igbo community in Awka, Anambra State, on a Monday, emphasizing that the struggle for Biafra should not be founded on lies or bloodshed. He cautioned against succumbing to empty slogans and destructive rhetoric, urging the community to reject narratives that promote division and unnecessary sacrifice.

Ejiofor pointed out that misinformation continues to spread among the Igbo regarding the struggle for Biafra's independence, warning that falsehoods could inflict significant harm. He highlighted the historical context of the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970) and the lasting pain it caused.

Ejiofor also noted the power of propaganda in shaping public perception during conflicts and stressed the need for a disciplined, peaceful approach to self-determination. He acknowledged recent leadership changes within IPOB, particularly under Mazi Chika Edoziem, which he believes could lead to a more strategic and non-violent pursuit of their goals.
