Sunday Igboho Launches Ogun State Iru Ekun Security Network

On Wednesday, Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, officially launched the Ogun State chapter of the Iru Ekun Security Network, a community-based security initiative aimed at addressing issues such as kidnapping and banditry in the South-West. The inauguration attracted hundreds of supporters, with thousands volunteering to join the initiative.

Igboho outlined the structure and operation of the security outfit, emphasizing the importance of discipline among members and warning against misconduct. He stated that the Federal Government would determine the training agency, while the Ogun State Governor’s Office would decide deployment locations post-training.

The state government has expressed support for the initiative, including a commitment to provide a monthly allowance for members to support their families. Igboho compared the initiative to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, suggesting that with proper management, it could evolve into a recognized security structure.
